Job Description:

  • Responsible for mechanical design for construction robotic products development. This includes concept design, 3D drawing, material selection and tooling to production.
  • Review mechanical & constructional design from R&D team, in terms of safety & functionality, material selection & cost, tolerance & reliability, and manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for critical parts/material sourcing and provide technical supports for field trial, troubleshooting and fault rectification.
  • Perform and lead mechanical design of E&M prefabrications. These include modular conduit, airduct, trunking, pipe, pump and their support frame/structure with consideration and calculation for manufacturability, logistics, hoisting, installation and T&C.
  • Lead structural analysis using FEM tools and software to validate design of various steel-based frameworks. Be able to achieve targeted safety factor and avoid potential failures.
  • Work with factory and suppliers to establish, enhance and continuously develop standard assembly processes and QC plans. Maintain high quality structural reliability, including but not limited to welding, riveting, bolt joining
  • Participate and provide DFMA knowhow in the BIM design stage to enhance BIM modeling efficiency.
  • Lead innovation on modular prefab method and component standardization, targeting to achieve Plug-and-Go, zero hot work on site and worker friendly design.
  • 5 days work per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or relevant
  • At least 2 years of experiences in mechanical design or structural design
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software like Inventor, Creo or Solidworks. Knowledge in BIM is a plus.
  • Familiar with strength tests and certifications on welded or bolted joint and experiences on report submission.
  • Experiences in core mechanical product design for robotic or automation applications are highly preferred.
  • Experiences in steel structure design, manufacturing and assembly, quality assurance and site installation are preferred.
  • Innovation experiences in universities, R&D institutes or other innovation teams are preferred.
  • Familiar with thermal and structural simulation using FEA tools.
  • A Good command of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) skill.
  • Independent, self-motivated and be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Mechanical Engineer.
